June Meeting Notes

Hello My Quilty Friends!

At guild this month some suggestion were made and I am very excited to make the following announcements:

1.) Guild Destash – The guild will host a destash/yard sale at the September meeting on 9/17/15. This is a great way to avoid PayPal fees, shipping fees and the extra work associated with billing and shipping. The “fee” to participate in the destash sale is donating 10% of your sales to the Guild. Please label any items you wish to sell (fabric, notions, books, finished projects, WIPs) with your full name and the price. After the sale, you will need to send your 10% to Theresa Childs; checks should be made out to WAMQG.

2.) News!
We bought a GO! electric die cutting machine and several dies (including the 8″ and 10″ clam shells! We expect it to be delivered by the July meeting and there will be a check out process for those who wish to borrow the machine. More details to come.

3.) Service Project: Jean suggested we should donate baby quilts or child sized quilts to children’s healthcare. Quilts should be made in smoke free environment and washed with dye-free, perfume-free detergent. This will be an individual project. You can drop off your finished quilt Jean anytime prior to the November meeting. Please contact Kerrie for a WAMQG quilt labels.

4.) Our next meeting will be on, July 16 at 7pm. Diana will be teaching us how to make a portable design board and we will enjoy the applause of show and tell! See you guys then!
